Our Story

The concept for Rich1Percent really began January 1996 when Emlyn Scott suffered a serious illness at 25 brought on by overwork and exhaustion.  He made a promise to find a better way of becoming successful than slaving for someone else.

He soon realised that while there might appear to be lots of books, courses, CDs and so on promising to provide him with the “secrets to wealth”, very few had any real substance.  However, over the course of the next 10 years, together with extensive study, he sifted through the rubbish to find the gems.  His wealth immediately began to accelerate and his income sources expanded into investments including property, CFDs, options and stocks.  Even the income employers were willing to pay him grew to well over $600,000 per year.

He noticed that wealth creation is not about finding a "secret" strategy to endless riches.  They don't exist.  The principles necessary to create wealth have not changed over time.  They worked in the past, they work today and they will work in the future.  He structured this tried and proven wealth creation strategy into a simple wealth creation formula.  

The first formal phase of Rich1Percent began with Emlyn writing Wealth Buys Freedom, which started in late 2004 taking three years from initial concept to printing.  He wrote Wealth Buys Freedom to challenge himself to prove he knew the world of wealth creation as well as he thought he did and to offer others a usable, trusted and comprehensive source of information to create real financial wealth.  But he realised that the demand for wealth creation information and services goes way beyond simply reading a book.   

Comprehensive, effective and trusted wealth creation education simply does not exist…especially at affordable prices.  No one knows who to trust and while the area of wealth creation information remains unregulated many unsavoury people are attracted to the idea of trying to sell wealth creation "information" to the trusting public desperate for real answers.  People needed interactive education, workshops, financial tools, templates, up to date information, investment sourcing they can trust, legal services and so on.  Not only that but they needed a community centre where they could connect to all the other people that are also interested in creating wealth...sharing stories, experiences, advice, motivation, connections, questions and answers, mentoring, sources, warnings, and so on. That’s why Rich1Percent Community was developed and is now live.

Emlyn formally founded Rich1Percent in 2008 to solve many of these problems.  The company's mission sets out the governing principles from which the growing suite of free information products has grown.  Rich1Percent offers comprehensive, effective and trusted wealth creation information and a community centre to connect with others on their wealth journey.  Please come and join our growing community.
